Sink into the Sunken Gardens
Formed in the 1960's, the Sunken Garden is one of the parade's 'hidden treasures'. Sitting below street level it offers a serene space to stop and smell the roses.
When excavation began, long gone reminders of the 1931 earthquake were discovered, within the rubble were pieces of local businesses and the surrounding buildings, perhaps making this spot that much more special to ponder life.
