Spread over 90 hectares in rolling Hawke's Bay hill country north of Napier and overlooking picturesque Lake Tutira, is Guthrie-Smith Arboretum. Open to the public every Sunday from October through to the end of the May, Guthrie-Smith is a short 30-minute drive from Napier.

Planted in geographical regions (New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan, Himalayas, Europe, Mexico, North America, Mediterranean and others) and linked by various walkway tracks, the Arboretum is a significant repository for many plant species and a haven for birds and native wildlife.

Pack your picnic and take the family up to Guthrie Smith. Relax and soak up the gorgeous scenery or take a walk and explore the Arboretum. Entry is free.
