Freedom Camping in Napier

Napier offers 4 Freedom Camping areas. Please ensure you follow all bylaws and regulations or infringements may apply.

BMX Pump Track, Marine Parade

• Vehicles must be self-contained
• 3 nights maximum stay

Perfume Point, Carpark

• 4 spaces only (look for the signs)
• Vehicles must be self-contained
• 2 nights maximum stay

Foreshore Reserve Carpark

• 8 vehicles only in marked spaces
• non self-contained vehicles permitted
• 2 nights maximum stay

Freedom camping is prohibited in the following places:

• The Westshore Foreshore Reserve 
• The CBD, Marewa, Taradale and Tamatea shopping districts
• McLean park
